Man Utd decide not to pursue Madrid target Stiller

Manchester United rule out move for Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller despite Real Madrid links

Manchester United have no intention of pursuing a deal for Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller, despite speculation suggesting he was being monitored as a potential target.

According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, there have been no discussions at Carrington regarding the 24-year-old, who has also been linked with Real Madrid. The rumours surrounding United only intensified after their failed attempt to land Brighton’s Carlos Baleba earlier this summer.

Reports in Spain claimed that Stiller had been recommended to Madrid by Toni Kroos, but no official approach has been made by the Spanish giants either. The German international remains a key figure for Stuttgart, who are determined to keep him.

Stiller, a product of Bayern Munich’s academy, joined Stuttgart in 2023 and has since made 82 appearances, recording five goals and 17 assists. His contract runs until 2028 and includes a release clause of €40m — although it cannot be activated until 2026, and Stuttgart retain the option to nullify it by paying him a €2m fee.

With United unlikely to add further reinforcements before the window closes, Stiller is set to remain in the Bundesliga, where he will continue as an integral part of Sebastian Hoeneß’s squad.
